PBC native title programs
In 2012, Aurora offered two pilot programs to representatives from PBCs, along with staff from NTRBs working closely with them. Select resources from these programs are available on this webiste (click on PBC resources on left). Aurora is currently reviewing options to offer further programs for PBCs. Aurora also offers a range of programs for staff working at NTRBs (click on NTRB native title programs on left), and where there is space we are able to offer these to PBCs. All Aurora programs are provided free of charge. Click on a PBC program below to see more details. Once a program is selected it will be displayed.

Snapshot
This program aims to help PBCs better manage and protect their native title. It is very practical, with activities and group discussion centred on real situations faced by PBCs. The program is for people from Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs) and Native Title Representative Bodies or Native Title Service Providers (NTRBs) who are involved in one or more PBCs.
- Registrations are now closed
Over a week it covers important knowledge for native title holders and PBCs about future acts, Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUAs), consulting with native title holders and making native title decisions. Activities will help you explore ways to share this information with the whole native title group, and how to set up processes for consultation and decision making which meet legal requirements, and are right for your PBC. Materials developed specially for PBCs are also provided, and can be taken back to the PBC to help with future work.
Note: This program does not address PBC governance and complying with the CATSI Act which are covered in programs offered by the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC).
Topics include:
Part 1: Understanding future acts and ILUAs for PBCs (2 days)
Part 1 covers important information about future acts and ILUAs for PBCs and builds skills for explaining this information to the broader native title group.
Part 2: Group consultation and decision-making (2 days)
