Miwatj management development program
Over 2008/2010, Aurora and the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) at the University of New South Wales, developed and delivered the Miwatj Management Development Program. Program supporters included the Rio Tinto Aboriginal Foundation, the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA), the Westpac Foundation, Woolworths and the Pratt Foundation.
The program consisted of four 3-day modules delivered to Indigenous managers in the Miwatj region, Nhulunbuy, Northern Territory:
- three 3-day modules were held from late May to early October 2008
- the final 3-day module took place in March 2010.
The program provided business management skills training to Indigenous managers working in cross-cultural contexts.
Further information about the Miwatj Management Development Program is contained in the 2008 Final Project Report.
